AQUABACxt is a highly potent, EPA-registered biological larvicide formulated with Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti). Designed for ponds, lakes, stormwater basins, wetlands, and other standing or slow-moving water, AQUABACxt eliminates larvae of mosquitoes, midges, black flies, and fungus gnats — without harming fish, wildlife, pets, or humans.

Mosquito Larvae

Standing freshwater:

Tidal, saltwater, or polluted water:

• 8oz – 16oz per acre (moderately polluted)
• 16oz – 32oz per acre (heavily polluted)

Midges in Shallow Ponds / Wastewater Systems

Ponds Less Than 1 acre, Less Than 6 ft Deep

• 1 gallon per acre

General Notes

• Apply using conventional ground spray equipment or aerial application
• Use enough water carrier to ensure uniform surface coverage
• Do not apply to finished drinking-water reservoirs

How AQUABACxt Works

AQUABACxt contains Bti spores that produce parasporal crystals — specialized proteins known as Delta-Endotoxins. When mosquito or midge larvae ingest the treated water:

1. The crystals dissolve in the alkaline larval gut
2. Activated toxins bind to the gut wall
3. The gut ruptures, stopping feeding
4. Larvae die before reaching adulthood

Because this mode of action only functions inside specific insect larvae, fish, insects like dragonflies, amphibians, mammals, and humans are completely unaffected.
