What does Reflective Black Dye Look Like?
Reflective Black Dye creates a dark, mirrored reflection of surroundings on pond water. Black dye is a favorite for ponds surrounded by trees and also golf course ponds.
Why should I use pond dye?
Pond Dye limits sunlight penetration to the bottom of the pond where weeds and algae grow. Combining Pond Dye, with Muck Remover, Pond Cleanse, Phosphate Eliminator, and Bottom Aeration provides a natural and proactive approach to pond management. This approach targets the root cause of many pond problems.
When should I use pond dye?
Pond Dye should be applied all months of the year when the pond is not frozen. Why? Algae has no temperature restrictions. Even if the water temperature is 40 degrees, it is still possible for algae to grow. For southern states that have no freeze over period, treat all year long. For northern ponds, begin dye treatments as soon as ice begins to melt, and continue applying until the pond freezes again.
Pond Dye Dosage Rate:
1 quart treats 1 acre, 6 feet deep. Repeat application monthly for best results. For ponds with heavy flow or during periods of heavy rain, treatment frequency may need to be increased.

How to apply liquid pond dye?
Our pond dye is a concentrate, however, no mixing is necessary. Simply pour dye at multiple points around the pond. Dye will distribute through the pond within 24 hours.
How often should Pond Dye be applied?
Dye MUST be treated at least once per month to maintain concentration. Waiting until dye is noticeably fading, means that sunlight is able to reach the pond bottom. For ponds with flow through, treat with dye every 2 weeks.
What does Black Pond Dye do?
Black pond dye turns the water surface into a shiny, mirror-like reflection of the pond surroundings. The deep black water color reflects the landscape around the pond giving it a beautiful appearance. The dye also prevents sunlight from reaching to the bottom of the pond where weeds and algae can grow.
Is Black Pond Dye Safe for Fish?
The food-grade black concentrate is 100% safe for fish and all other aquatic organisms. It is non-toxic and contains only colorant and a few salts used to balance the solution. The dye does not stain rocks, soil, concrete, fountains, pets or other swimmers in the pond.
Safe for use in Swim Pond, Recreational Pond, Farm Pond
Safe for Fish & Aquatic Life

Black Pond Dye Reviews - What our Customers are Saying
Came the day after I ordered it!!
I have used many different brands of pond dye over the years. This dye is good but my pond is a third acre pond that is about 12 feet deep in the middle. I used the entire quart of this dye for my pond. I would actually have liked to add maybe another half quart to get it to the color I like it to be. So you may need more than you think you need according to the coverage it states of 1 acre pond that's 6 feet deep. Of course that is personal preference on my part. I like my pond dark. I don't like it to look 'Caribbean blue' which other dyes have made it look in the past. This is a nice dark color. I gave 5 stars for the 'sheerness' category because in fairness to the seller, I don't know what that means. Easy to use; yes of course it's easy to use. Just open and pour into pond in a few different areas that are upwind of your pond. I highly recommend placing bottle in a zip lock bag when you open it. Be gentle when you pop open the foil top. I stupidly did that with a screw driver and some of the dye spilled out but fortunately it went into the bag I had it in and also all over my left hand which I didn't have a glove on. So definitely wear gloves on both hands. Overall a good product, but for my preference I would prefer to have more than one quart to achieve the color I like. I would buy again. - Mel F.
