Pond Restoration

Pond Restoration

Do you remember how amazing your pond was years ago? Reclaim that memory and create the water body that will be the focal point of your property!

Over time decaying vegetation, sediment, and debris build up in your pond or lake bottom creating a recipe for disaster - algae blooms, poor fish habitat, aquatic weeds, murky water, and potentially toxic water chemistry.

Removing this organic sludge is essential to restoring the proper function and water quality of your water body. Once the accumulated sludge is removed, new natural products are available to prevent additional muck accumulation.

Some ponds have accumulated too much organic muck, debris, and nuturients. They require a full, very invasive, and expensive restoration often using heavy equipment or dredges. However, many ponds can be re-balanced using natural treatments, aeration, and other careful management techniques. In these cases, the pond owner will save tens of thousands of dollars and eliminate or significantly delay the need for invasive restoration work.

DIY Pond Restoration

Renewing your pond is a rewarding process and often a work that brings visual improvements that are astounding!

The key factors for the DIY pond manager to focus on are:
  • Organic Muck
  • Nutrients
  • Algae Blooms
  • Aquatic Weeds
  • Dissolved Oxygen

The first step is understanding how much muck has accumulated and if the water chemistry in the pond is healthy. Use a long pole to probe the pond bottom. Feeling for the soft bottom and then the hard bottom will give a good estimate of how much muck has accumulated in the pond.

Pond water chemical analyisis for Nitrogen and Phosphorous help to determine the best treatments to return the water chemistry to health.

Ponds with little or no summer-time water circulation benefit from the addition of a stunning waterfall or aeration system.

A constructed waterfall can provide aeration, circulation, and a variety of other benefits. Unique methods are used to create an environment where natural aquatic organisms thrive. This aquatic life occasionally dislodges from waterfall tumbling into pond where it provides a completely natural food supply for fish life. Your pond now has a completely natural, self-sustaining feeding system which results in healthier, larger fish.

Professional Pond Restoration Services

A complete pond restoration will TRANSFORM your pond into an incredible body of water that becomes the focal point of your property!

Unfortunately, if organic muck or inorganic sediment accumulation have completely over-run a pond, professional restoration is needed. Take the next step with a detailed, professional evaluation of your restoration options.

Imagine the joy that your restored water body will bring. Experience an unbelievable array of wildlife. From songbirds to waterfowl and interesting wading birds, the pond and wetland environment is a favorite for winged wildlife. A pond can be renewed with specific fish species in mind as well - support trout populations, largemouth bass, perch, crappie, sunfish, blue gills and other game fish.
